With the fierce assault on the Gaza Strip, the State of Israel has provided the world with yet another confirmation of the willingness to carry out ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. The 1300 dead, thousands injured, the terrible destruction wrought by three weeks of bombing followed a criminal embargo - initiated and practiced by Israel, the United States and the European Union - which for over two years strikes one of the poorest people in the world , preventing any trade, business and even blocking the transit of humanitarian aid.
Continue, then, the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, the denial of the right of people to have its own state. The drama of the half million Palestinians segregated in the Gaza Strip is reflected by the transformation of the West Bank into a system of open-air prisons, with the towns and villages isolated from each other by the Apartheid Wall that Israel has continued to build despite the European Court of Justice International 2004 and the UN resolutions, which continues to be violated with impunity, with the complicity of the governments of the major world powers.
to contribute to the international campaign for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions launched by Palestinian civil society organizations, we promote in our country as a way of initiatives to affect the economy of the Israeli war, through boycott of Israeli goods, the Israeli divestment, the suspension of academic relationships and partnerships with state and local governments, boycotts of tourism in Israel and the verification of possible legal action for the condemnation of war criminals and compensation the damage caused in these years of occupation and war.
In particular, the objectives of the Italian Campaign for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) are:
- All goods identified by the bar code with the first three digits 729, which identify the products from the State of Israel.
- Agricultural products branded Israeli Jaffa and Caramel, which are present on the shelves of supermarkets and many shops.
- Pharmaceuticals, the Israeli company Theva, that both in Italy and in France has acquired a dominant position in the market for generic drugs and OTC products.
